Beef tenderloin stir-fry with celery and green onions
Ingredients
  • 7oz Beef tenderloin200 g
  • 1tsp Beef stock powder5 ml
  • 1tsp Ground black peper5 ml
  • 6cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 1tsp Sugar5 ml
  • 1tsp Fish sauce5 ml
  • 2tbsp Canola oil30 ml
  • 1/2 Shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 Onion, small, chopped
  • 1cup Celery250 ml
  • 1/2tsp Sugar2.5 ml
  • 1 Red hot chili, medium
  • 3 Cilantro, branches
  • 3/4cup Brown rice, cooked190 ml
Instructions
  1. Thinly slice the beef and marinate with ground black pepper, beef stock powder, chopped garlic, 5 mL (1 tsp) sugar and fish sauce
  2. Finely chop the cilantro. Cut the celery into medium-size pieces (~ 5 cm). Slice the onions into medium thick slices.
  3. Heat up 15 mL (1 tbsp) of canola oil on a non-stick pan. Add the shallot and cook until fragrant. Add the beef in and pan sear the meat. Remove the beef and set aside
  4. In the same pan, heat 15 mL (1 tbsp) of canola oil at medium-high heat. Add onion and quickly stir-fry. Add the celery and cook 3 minutes, then add in the beef. Quickly stir-fry until the meat is thoroughly cooked. Add 2.5 mL (½ tsp) of sugar to enhance the flavor, mix thoroughly and turn off the heat
  5. Serve the recipe on a plate. Sprinkle some ground black pepper, cilantro and chopped red hot chili
  6. One serving of the beef stir-fry would be served with 60 mL (1/4 cup) of brown rice
